Chief Operating Officer to Antaros Tracer
Would you like to take on a senior leadership role in a young and growing company devoted to making a real difference in drug development through ground-breaking imaging? Do you thrive in a role where you can combine scientific expertise and drive operational leadership? If this catches your interest, you should continue reading.
Antaros Tracer is a sister company to Antaros Medical, formed to ensure an expedited and focused development of new Positron Emission Tomography (PET) tracers to be used as important biomarkers in drug development studies. Current disease area focus is fibrotic disease and immune-system activation in immune-oncology, inflammatory disease, and immunology.
The company drives pre-clinical testing (in vitro and in vivo) of novel PET-tracer candidates, by contracted partners we perform GMP-controlled manufacture and toxicity-testing of such candidates. We create the regulatory dossier so the PET-tracers can be tested in clinical studies to prove their utility as biomarkers of disease. The tracers are then used as biomarkers in longitudinal intervention studies by Pharma companies as a marker of the impact novel pharmaceutical compounds have on the disease. Hence facilitating decision-making and improving drug development.
As part of our growth journey, we are now looking for a COO who will play a pivotal role in building and developing Antaros Tracer for the future.
The role
This is a senior operational role with broad responsibilities. As COO, you will provide operational leadership and expertise in all activities, including vendor qualification and management of tox- and CMC-CROs, oversee creation of regulatory documentation, and project oversight for both pre-clinical and clinical PET-tracer studies.
You will also act as a close partner to the CEO and play an important role in shaping the company’s future, while also ensuring smooth daily operations in collaboration with external partners, CROs, and regulatory agencies.
The role will be based in Sweden (location flexible within Antaros offices in Gothenburg, Uppsala or Malmö).
Key responsibilities
- Act as “second-in-command” to the CEO, actively contributing to building and developing the company
- Drive the implementation of company systems and processes (e.g. QMS, SharePoint, website) in collaboration with QA
- Project management for all CMC- and tox-related aspects of pre-clinical and clinical studies.
- Plan, manage, and ensure delivery of tasks in line with SOPs, timelines, and quality requirements
- Serve as primary point of contact with sponsors, CROs, vendors, and regulatory authorities
- Prepare and support regulatory and ethics submissions, including CMC documentation
- Manage project budgets and contribute to sponsor proposals
- Lead proactive vendor management for PET-tracer precursor manufacturers and other providers (toxicology CROs, PET centers, storage facilities)
- Establish agreements, oversee stability studies, and manage supply to ongoing projects
- Conduct vendor qualification and perform vendor oversight in collaboration with QA
- Manage associated budgets
- Identify and monitor potential risks, maintain risk management logs, and develop contingency plans
- Participate in senior management interactions (e.g. our Board) as required.
Who you are
We believe that you are a strategic, hands-on leader with a strong scientific and operational background in CMC or the pre-clinical areas. You have significant experience of the conduct of clinical studies and are well versed in GXP quality regulations. You thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment where you can both build structures for the future and ensure excellence in today’s operations.
You enjoy working across disciplines and with external partners, and you are confident in taking ownership of complex projects. You combine excellent collaboration skills with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset, and you are motivated by the opportunity to make a real impact on both the company’s growth and drug development as a whole.
Requirements
- University degree in life sciences, pharmacy, chemistry, or related field.
- Extensive experience of project management of CMC- and tox-related activities for pre-clinical (animal models and tox) and/or clinical studies
- Experience with regulatory submissions and interactions in support of clinical trial applications
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work strategically as well as operationally
- Extensive experience of operating in and complying with GMP and GLP regulations
- Have business acumen and experience of contractual negotiations
Meritorious
- Proven track record of vendor qualification and management
